Leslie Cheatham Design by Leslie Morrison

Leslie Morrison grew up in San Antonio surrounded by design and architecture. She completed her undergraduate in Boston with a year divided between Paris and Athens, receiving a double major in Art History with an emphasis on textiles and French. Leslie then completed her Masters in Decorative Arts through the Cooper-Hewitt and Parsons School of Design, NYC focusing on French and American furniture and Textiles and Tapestries. This is where she fell in love with gilding and specialty finishes. Returning to Texas after living abroad for 20 years, Leslie began her decorative painting business, Vigini Paint and Design, in 1998 with partner Nicola Vigini which is still going strong today.

In 2018, Leslie located her biological father Robert Cheatham while starting her hand painted monogramming and custom design business which she aptly named after him. Adopted in Fort Worth thru the Gladney Center combined with her family in Gainesville, TX, she realized her lifelong suspicions were true: that she was country (she just didn’t know how much!) and with this she reignited her love affair with Cowboy, Indian and Western culture, still maintaining her love for all things French.

With an East Coast, Parisian and Greek education, expat experiences in The Netherlands, Brussels and Northern England and a love for Texas and western fashion, Leslie combines painting luxury leather accessories with monogramming and painting cowboy boots which has become her signature artistic style.

Her studio is in Terrell Hills and you can contact her to make an appointment or find her at an event in a city near you.
